Mosley scored fight for 'aggressive' Pacquiao

Former world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley scored the "Fight of the Century" in favor of Manny Pacquiao, as he credited the "Pacman" for his aggression over Floyd Mayweather's slick defensive style.

Mayweather defeated Pacquiao via unanimous decision to move to 48-0 in his storied career, but Mosley – who fought and lost to both men – believes Pacquiao should have won the fight.
"It was seven to five," Mosley told TJ Manotoc of ABS-CBN News. "It was seven rounds out of (12) for Manny."

"I thought he had a lot more work, but you know, Mayweather was just as sharp. Maybe I didn't see on TV, but I can see up close the shots that were landing and weren't landing," he explained.

"It looked to me that Manny was putting more punches, more combinations, and landing more and more aggressive, and (he) really wanted to make the fight," he added.

Pacquiao's best round was the fourth, when he forced Mayweather back with a solid straight left that sent the American to the ropes. Pacquiao unloaded a flurry of punches as Mayweather covered up, but "Money" was able to regain control of the bout.

Mosley did not think that Pacquiao lacked in speed or in power.
"He had the speed, he had power, he had a lot of different things," he said.

That being said, Mayweather was simply "phenomenal" on fight night, Mosley admitted. "He worked very hard. Mayweather is very sharp, and he was pretty much doing everything right," he said.

 

Manny had to be on his A-game to even touch Mayweather, and he was," he added.

After seeing Pacquiao try and fail to hand Mayweather his first loss, Mosley admitted that it will be extremely difficult to beat the American superstar, but is willing to watch the "Pacman" get another shot at it.

"I do," he said when asked if he wanted to see a rematch. "I wouldn't put Mayweather with anybody else, and I wouldn't put Pacquiao with anybody else."
